Marketing & Communications Manager 

(Reports to the Managing Director)

This role presents a great opportunity for the right candidate who relishes a hands-on role and has the initiative, tenacity and the marketing and communication skills to pick up and run with exciting challenges from conception through to completion, interacting where necessary with colleagues and departmental resource. A positive growth mindset is essential for this position.

You will be expected to, in conjunction with the senior management team, create and successfully deliver a marketing and communication strategy to our core marketplace (Automotive), reaching the target audience and their key stakeholders. You will need to demonstrate you have current experience and success in a challenging but dynamic and exciting B2B and Digital space, specifically showing us how you have generated response with accompanying results. 

The role will also require you to follow through all marketing success with an effective contact strategy which will involve using any effective channel necessary including Social, CRM and face to face engagement with potential new customers. The measured success of which will be a significant enhancement of our profile in the Automotive industry and the continuous generation of a high level of engagement and quality leads for us to take to the next stage of our acquisition strategy.

This role also requires you to develop and implement a successful CRM strategy with our existing clients. This will include social, CRM, direct contact and setting up and hosting events for our highly valued customers which in turn results in positive customer feedback, high engagement from client key stakeholders and stronger client retention.

Finally, but equally important, we are looking for someone to also drive forward our internal communication strategy. This will involve delivering regular communications to our teams and ensuring they are well informed about our marketing and communication strategy, as well as introducing improved communication between offices and departments that enhances our ‘One Agency’ culture and philosophy.

KPI’s will be based around 

  • Measuring increased levels of marketing results (website traffic, engagement, leads) and how many of those convert to opportunities to present to new clients.
  • Measuring client retention and client satisfaction scores, RAR Awards positive entries and subsequent awards.
  • Internal staff feedback, including measurable surveys showing high levels of awareness and knowledge of our marketing and communications.

Job Overview

  • To enhance the profile and brand awareness of the MB Advertising and Bluesky Interactive Group to all target customer groups within the markets that we operate in.
  • To create, implement and deliver the Agency marketing strategy using a blend of B2B channels including direct marketing, social, events, sponsorship, PR and CRM.
  • To identify, develop and secure new business leads that convert to commercial opportunity for the Agency through marketing lead generation, events and direct sales.
  • To improve client retention in the Agency through effective CRM and Marketing Strategy to our existing clients.
  • To lead the Agency’s internal communication so that our staff are aware of our market position and external communication strategy at all times. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Working in close proximity to other departmental Heads and Directors to: 

  • To fully understand our culture and relationships with our clients, suppliers and the marketplaces we operate in. 
  • To fully understand all of ours and our competitors product and service USP’s. To be able to identify immediate and future market trends and product / service opportunities that position us as ‘ahead of the curve’ in our marketplace. 
  • Responsible for the structure, organisation and effective communication of our annual marketing plan, to an agreed budget and in line with agreed new business targets.
  • To liaise with creative, production and client services to ensure our marketing has the right tone, content and brand identity to connect with our target audience at all times.
  • Responsibility for the management and development of our website (content, engagement and lead generation).
  • To provide innovative and effective methods of gaining us the most effective market voice and highest levels of engagement from our target audience.
  • To effectively identify, nurture and develop direct B2B relationships with the key stakeholders of potential new clients.
  • To set up and attend industry events, developing key contacts (clients and suppliers) and building relationships, improving the profile of the company in the marketplaces we work in.
  • To create, manage and deliver an effective CRM plan for our existing clients including direct marketing, seminars and digital communications (webinars, Video content).
  • To establish and implement the most effective methods of communicating internally with our teams so that they are consistently aware of our marketing content and essential internal company information.  

Qualifications / Experience

  • Education/qualifications: Ideally educated to degree standard or with CIM
  • Experience. You must be able to demonstrate current success in the digital and B2B environment in the same or very similar role. Essentially in a commercial product and service environment. Any experience in Marketing Agency or Automotive sectors would be an advantage.
  • Specific skills. Hands-on approach and determination to succeed under own initiative. Proven B2B marketing expertise. Excellent relationship building skills. Highly organised. Training Manager ( Sheffield )

Training Manager. 

(Reporting to the Managing Director)

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to develop our existing training academy and take it to the next level. We need someone with proven experience, who can demonstrate to us that they have quickly understood and then improved an already successful training and development strategy in a similar type of commercial organisation. 

You will need to be a fast learner, with initiative and a growth mindset to work alongside our departmental heads and employees to deliver an Agency-wide, first class training and personal development program. Your output should have a direct, positive impact on the quality of our teams work quality, job satisfaction and in turn, staff well-being and retention.

You will also need to show you have the creativity and mindset, aligned with our company culture, to positively take us forward in terms of the employee engagement benefits and working environment that we provide to our staff. 

Job Overview

  • To build effective and trusting relationships with all employees across the Agency so you can work with them to identify individual development needs and then through appropriate methods deliver the curative training in a positive environment for all. 
  • To build effective working relationships with departmental heads so that you fully understand the function of their teams, its importance to the overall business, resulting in training and development that improves the effectiveness of our service to clients, suppliers and internal colleagues.
  • To implement, maintain and deliver our structured and continuous Agency wide ‘MB Training Academy’ that effectively develops our employees knowledge skill and attitude and improves their ability to fulfill their job function and key objectives.  
  • To manage and develop our ‘MB Moments’ program, furthering the continuous improvement of our working environment, staff well-being, enjoyment and job satisfaction of our employees.
  • To undertake some associated HR functions of the Agency in line with current legislation. 

KPI’s will be based around 

  • Positive staff feedback in relation to their recruitment, induction and on-going training and development opportunities whilst in our employment.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • To prepare and write all of the content for all required training sessions. To effectively deliver all training sessions to all staff, supported where necessary by the relevant departmental head.
  • Identify new individual and team training needs / opportunities and devise practical and effective training plans for those teams / people.
  • To deliver curative side by side and field based training support to individuals within the team.
  • Provide measurable reporting of the MB Academy and associated training support that demonstrates its effectiveness through improved performance, staff satisfaction, feedback and ultimately through staff retention.
  • To support, alongside departmental heads for the effective delivery of our HR Function which includes our recruitment, induction, evaluation and exit processes.
  • Manage and develop the MB Moments program ensuring that it delivers it key objectives of staff satisfaction, well-being and retention. 
  • Suggest pro-active improvements and practical feedback to department heads about our current working practices and management of our people.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Education/qualifications: Ideally educated to degree standard or with CIPD.
  • Experience. Must be able to demonstrate proven success as a Training Manager who has delivered most of the key requirements mentioned on the Job Overview to  in an existing or previous role. Knowledge gained within a B2B or B2C product and service commercial environment is essential. Any experience in Marketing Agency or Automotive sectors would be an advantage.
